Growing Up Fast

Mummy has been very naughty and not updated my blog for ages....

You should see how much I have grown. I am growing so fast I can't keep up with myself. My legs are getting so long - mum keeps calling me lanky legs. They are going to help me run really fast and jump really well.  Everyone that see's me say things like "My, haven't you grown!"

Oh I have done so much since my last blog. I have started school now - I love my teacher - Lucy Osborne. She is really nice. We are learning lots of things like how to control my back legs - that is not easy cos they are so long and seem to just want to go anywhere - well, they obviously follow my front legs but not always in a straight line! The things Lucy makes us do makes me think about where they are. That way when I start doing agility properly it will be better for me. Like walking over the dog walk - I will need to keep my back legs in line with my front ones so I don't fall off - don't want to do that now!!!

I am also learning what a target is. Mummy puts this tile down on the floor and i have to touch it with my paws and lie down on it as quickly as possible. The quicker I do it the more pleased she is and I get a treat.

Oh and I also have another little trick which I learnt - again this is to help me with my back legs - Mummy has an upsidedown plant pot in the garden and I can sit on it with all 4 feet. I do this every day and I am getting very good. I don't wobble much now. I used to struggle to keep all my feet on it but now I am getting quite good balance.

Oh and here's some exciting news - Mummy has also bought us a tunnel!!!! I am loving it - i run through it really quickly and then mummy throws the ball. I have to do it really quickly or she doesn't let me have the ball. It's very good fun. Gemma loves playing too and Hizzy - we all get very excited.

I had a trip to the vets the other day - Gemma had to go because she had hurt her back. The vet gave her some tablets and said she wasn't to run about too much for a few days till she gets better. I liked the vet. He didn't like all the kisses I gave him though. He gave me some biscuits and then put something in my back. Mum said it was a chip but thats my name so don't know what she means. Apparently its a little metal thing that has information on it that can be read by a machine so that everyone can tell who my mummy is if I ever get lost. That won't happen though because I am not going to leave my mummy ever.

Catch you all again soon.

Love Chip - how can you not!!!!

BREAKING NEWS!!!

I CAN SWIM!!!

We went to Harsholme Park this morning and Hizzy and Gemma went running through the park to the lake in the Swanholme nature park. They went straight into the water so I thought"what the heck - that looks fun" so in I went.  It was a bit wet and only a little bit away from the bank and I couldn't reach the bottom so I just floated. If I kicked my legs I moved along in the water. Woohoo - it was so much good fun.

Mummy didn't let me stay in there long cos it was a bit cold but I am sure going to go again. I'm not scared of the water. Had a good run on the field to get dried off.

Well we have had another very exciting weekend and I have met so many new people and doggies. I am soooo tired now. Mummy is too - she even fell asleep in the day time on Monday like i do and she’s heaps older than me.

We went to another agility show and although it was only in Lincoln where I live we stayed in the caravan because mummy was working in the big tent.  Not only did I sleep in the caravan with Mummy, Hizzy and Gemma I didn't even have to sleep in a separate bed. I slept with mummy on her bed although there wasn't much room because Gemma wanted to sleep on mummy's bed too. Hizzy had the other bed all to himself - but then again, who'd want to sleep with him - he snores, and he's grumpy if you touch him!!!  I was very good and although I had to get up to go out for a wee in the night I think that was only because we went to bed so early I couldn't wait all night. I was going to go outside but mummy said it was ok to go in the awning. It would be fine on the grass in there just for once.

I was a very good boy all weekend and didn't do much wrong really.  Mummy left the toilet door open and so I nicked the toilet roll and chewed it all up and it made a lovely carpet of white on the caravan floor. Mummy didn't tell me off though - she laughed when she came back. I won't do it again though - once is enough. Must think of something else next time. Jokes run dry after a while don't they?

Oh I must tell you about Chilli. He came round to play (with his mummy) and we had a great game of mud wrestling! It was real good fun. Hope we get to do it again.  Just the playing will be fine we don't need to do mud wrestling lol. I saw Fleck again too although we didn't play much. She was a bit grizzly but then she's a girl! I am much bigger then both of them but that's because I eat up all my dinners. I didn't see much of the agility but what I did see was pretty good and exciting still. I so can't wait until I can start to learn it. Whilst I'm on the subject of the mud - oh boy you should have seen it. There was just sooo much. I don't think mummy took any photos of it but I am glad she picked me up and carried me. She even picked Gemma up and carried her but I think that was because she didn't want a muddy caravan!  You should have seen the rain and the hail. I wasn’t scared – well not much anyway. It thundered too. Gemma was a bit scared but i wasn’t. Look at how the hail stayed on the ground – it settled on top of the awning too and made it sag.

We went home on Sunday night and mummy made me sleep in my own bed again – she said there was too much that i might chew in her bedroom like her slippers and wires etc etc. I don’t mind anyway because i’ve got my own puppy dog to cuddle in there and it’s quite cosy.  Daddy was away all weekend too. He went away on his bike on Thursday and took the tent with him. He went to watch some bike racing in Holland. Sounds a bit boring to me really but he wanted to go. I did miss him a bit but i really enjoyed my weekend with mummy. Daddy came back on Tuesday – I was pretty pleased to see him. Mummy had gone back to work and so we were all on our own when dad came home. He had had some rain and it had been cold but i don’t think it was as bad as we had had.

Anyway – must go now. Will update again soon.

PS – I am growing so much these days. My legs are getting so long now.

I went to another agility show this weekend. I was allowed to walk round on the lead this time instead of being carried all the time. Gosh - I was sooo tired at the end of the day. I had time to play with Chili tho - Mummy, Hizzy, Gemma and me stayed in a caravan on Saturday night. It belonged to Chili's mum and dad. It meant that Chili and me could play together in the evening. We both went into Chili's pen outside and played and played loads. We dug a hole in there too - but we got told off for that. It was good fun tho. Sometimes we got a bit too carried away and got a bit too rough but we soon made up and carried on playing.

It was quite cold and wet - not nice at all so mummy bought me a little hoodie. I looked quite good in it. It was posh! Daddy doesn't like it tho. He says i can't wear it when i go out with him. Never mind. He's boring. I will ask mum to take a photo of me with it on and let you make your own mind up. It certainly kept me nice and warm anyway.

Gemma was quite good - she got 3 clear rounds. I am sure I will be able to do better. I am going to get loads of pocket money.  It was good fun watching the dogs though. Some of them went really fast and some of them made such a noise as they went round I don't know how they knew where to go. They certainly couldn't hear their mum or dad telling them where to go. I think they must has been mad!!

Well folks - I have been here for 3 weeks now. And I must say I am absolutely loving it. I am so glad I came to live here.  I love my mum soooo much and she loves me too. I think she loves me too much really because she keep kissing me and cuddling me everytime she sees me.  Yuk!!! She'd better not do that in public it will be so embarrasing :-) My mum smiles so much when she is with me tho - more so than she ever did before I came so I have been told.  Sometimes daddy makes her sad but I soon cheer her up again.  I think I am good for her.

I still haven't been out the yard yet - I get to go to the vets this Monday then a week after that I can go and play outside. I can't wait. Gemma says the field they go to play in is huge!!!  And then there is the park, and the common, and loads of places to go to. Oh - and the beach.  So can't wait to go there.  That sounds so much fun.

Aparently there is another agility show that Gemma and Hizzy are going to in 2 weeks time. Its at Easter time but they are only going for 2 days - Saturday and Sunday. Mummy was going to drive there and back both days but now we are going to stop with my brothers mummy and daddy on the saturday night so that we don't have to spend so much on diesel. I can't wait to see Chilli again. I am bigger than him now even though he was born before me - only by a few minutes tho! That's cos I eat my dinners all up!

Mummy has been teaching me new things - like standing on a block. Yesterday she changed the block to be the scales out of her bathroom so that she could weigh me. I weigh 7 KG.  No wonder mum says her arms ache when she carries me upstairs to bed. I told her I could do it myself but she says I need to look after my joints until they are properly grown. If I don't it will hurt when I'm older and I won't be able to jump so I had better just let her get on with it. I am getting very clever at sitting and standing on this block - Mummy made it out of an old telephone book actually, and wrapped it up with tape cos I would chew the papers otherwise.  I can stand with both front feet on it and now I am practicing lifting my back legs onto it without looking! I can sit on it - ha ha. Hence why mum decided to get me to sit on the scales!  Mum says it will be good practice for me when I start doing agility. It will help with my contacts and also my "bum-awareness" what ever that is. I know my bum is there - it keeps following me. No doubt I will find out later and let you know.

Oh before I go I must just tell you about Gemma. Last week something happened that frightened her so much that she wanted to get into the living room but mum had locked the door whilst she was at work so Gemma tried to go through the window like the cat does. She didn't make a very good job of doing that and she fell backwards I think. She hurt herself too and was crying. I tried to be nice to her but didn't know what to do. When mum and dad got home from work they wanted to take her to the vets so that he could make her better but poor Gemma was hurting so much she didn't want mummy to lift her into the car.  She bit mummy's hand although she didn't mean to hurt. It was just natural for her to do that. When they got to the vets the nice man came out to the car to see her and gave her some pain killers.  They made her feel better and she was a lot better when she got home again. The next day mummy took her to see Christine East - she's a chiropractor and she checked Gemma's back and legs etc and said she had hurt her neck a bit. She was very sad for a few days but she's OK now. Anyway, I don't know what happened or whether it's related to that but Gemma is so much nicer to me now. We play together in the garden and it's so much fun. We chase each other round and round and then we are both so tired. It's really good fun tho. Mummy says it makes her happy to see it too.

Here's a picture of me sitting on the scales!

Speak soon - have fun!

Love

Chip

I am so so tired at the moment but I must tell you about my exciting weekend. On Saturday mum took me to my first ever agility show.  It looked quite exciting and I so want to have a go one day but mum says I have to be a bit bigger before I can go to school to learn how to do it. I want to be really good at it because everyone seems to get excited about being the fastest and I really like those red rosettes that they give out to the fastest dog. They look brilliant. Gemma didn't win anything yesterday - not even a little rosette for getting a clear round - she was pretty rubbish really. Bet I can do better. Apparently she did go clear in the team event she did with her mates tho. I am going to be in a team with Chili and maybe Fleck if I can.  We will need someone else to join us as there should be 4 in a team but we will find someone.

Yesterday mum took my crate with us so I could sleep in it in the car and then she took it into the agility area and I sat at the side of the ring watching and sleeping whilst mum was helping. Sometimes though we would go and have a walk round and I met loads of people that mum knows. They all said I was gorgeous and everyone wanted to have a cuddle off me. Some people also wanted to steal me and take me home for themselves but I want to stay with my mummy. I love her so much and don't ever want to go away from her. I hope I made everyone smile and feel nice. That is going to be my mission - to be good and make people smile. My mum needs to smile sometimes cos I know she has been a bit sad but she said she felt much better now I am here. Gosh - I'm only 10 weeks old and I've already changed something for the better. I love my mum so much and I know she loves me. I saw my auntie Penny too. She's the lady that looked after me before I came to live with mummy. She was nearly crying when she saw me again - I think she misses me. I had a really nice cuddle with her. She is happy that I am happy tho.

We also went for a walk to the toy and treat stall. Wow! - there was loads of treats and toys I just wanted everything. There was loads of different squeaky toys and lots of yummy looking treats. I think I will spend all my pocket money at that place every time.  It will be a while before I am allowed any pocket money though - I will have to share Gemma's unless mum lets me have any for being good.  At the moment Gemma and Hizzy get pocket money depending how good they have been at agility. That means that because Gemma got 2 clear rounds today she gets £2. If she gets a place she gets £2 per place and if she gets a trophy she gets £4. Not that she's ever got many, I think she's only ever had one - lol. She's pretty rubbish! (Mum says I shouldn't say that tho!)  Hizzy has got a shelf full of trophies. Not sure if he will get anymore now though because I don't know if he is going to do any agility anymore. Mum says he's getting too old.

Today I stayed at home with dad whilst mum took Hizzy and Gemma to the border collie club show. It was raining and horrible to start with so I am glad I didn't have to go. Dad took me to Grandma's. That was good cos I always get loads of biscuits there. Grandma has a huge big garden and I so look forward to playing in it soon.

Anyway - going to sign out now and get off to bed. Hope you all have sweet dreams.

Hi folks - I'm back!!!

Gosh I have been playing so hard just lately. But that's a good thing because it makes me sleep really well at night time now.  Mum has got my sleeping arrangements sorted for now. I have got a new fabric crate which I can sleep in in mummy's bedroom (Gemma is there with us too). I wake up midway through the night at the moment as I need a wee but I can soon go back to sleep.  I quite like my little bed.  I cry to start with when I first go in there at night but that's because I want to carry on playing. I am soon asleep though.

I am learning my limits with Gemma and Hizzy - Gemma is a lot better now. She wears this grey coat which mum calls her thunder coat and it makes her more chilled. I accidentally jumped on her yesterday, luckily she was wearing it, and she didn't snap at me. I am going to call it her chill coat.  I am so happy living here. I get to play with lots of different toys because Hizzy and Gemma have loads and loads and mummy bought me some new ones when she went to Crufts before I came. Crufts sounds like a really fun place to go. Sooo much shopping to be done there. I will try and work really hard and be really good so that mummy will take me one day. She was watching some of what they call the agility on the TV the other night and it looked so much fun. I can already jump over her legs and seeing as I only have little ones myself when they grow strong I want to be really good at jumping. I'm not scared of heights either - I have already walked along the back of the sofa although mummy told me off for that. Oh and my tail is always wagging!

I have got a little purple collar on today.  Mum says I have to wear one when I go out with my name and address on so that if I get lost people will know where I live. Mummy will put me on a lead too when we go for a walk - not looking forward to that - I like to be free. Guess I will learn though.  G & H wear them so should be ok.

Here's a few more pictures of me:
